About James

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I have lived in Southern California most of my life. I worked as a press photographer early on and then retired after 34 years with County of Los Angeles. (CEO photo unit, Chief Photographer) – I am married and raising our teenage grandson who is learning photography and digital imaging. After I retired, I decided to learn blacksmithing and welding. (maybe silly but fun) I am a US Navy (submarine service) veteran.

What one thing are you most proud of in your 73 years?
I think I am most proud of the role I have been able to play in the raising of our grandson, although I never imagined I would do it twice. He is now 17 and has become an excellent student and quite a well balanced young man.

What one piece of advice would you give your 10 year old self?
I would say, “pay attention and do better in school”

What one thing do you hope to achieve before you reach 100?
I would like to visit Ireland.

What one thing do you feel has changed the world the most in your lifetime?
In my opinion, the internet and wireless communication have made the most dramatic improvement overall.
